One of the on the job(p) themes under the profits Engineering Task Force is that of Web Security. The problem statement for websec also states that this working group is detail to only the application based type of attacks that are JavaScript and XML types, along with Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) that include Web 2.0 engine room (The internet engineering, 2012).
The types of attacks that the group is sees as a major concern for those using the web based applications are Cross-Site- Request Forgery (CSRF), content-sniffing, cross-site-scripting (XSS), clickjacking, malvertising and man-in-the-middle attacks (The internet engineering, 2012). Although this working group is specific to websec they are encouraged to work with other groups to share education and ideas to meet the finishs that are listed in the problem statement. The overall goal as listed in the deliverables section is to provide documentation as to the Web application security problems and HTTP security solutions.
