The reason I show this picture is when I imply about Woodstock I entert come across a music festival for counter culture hippies, I see it being a gathering of people purporting to attract a change for society. How this relates to cultural anthropology is the people of this movement prompt me of how certain races act as a society. I locution at these hippies and see them as a tribe of people looking to better themselves and the rest of their kind. Hippies believed in preserving the land, helping each other as if they were family, and peace among all. If you look at Native Americans they have similar beliefs as the hippies did, as do I. America as well as the world has changed over the years and for good or unsound I am unsure. America right off compared to 1969 is a entirely different land none of which I feel bump or safe in. Toleration of things was different, the way we acted towards our neighbors was different, and how people rundle their minds was different. I feel as if independence of speech has been taken away because, when someone tries to take a stand and utter their mind especially to government whether it local or national they can be labeled as an outcast. The hippies embraced emancipation of speech and took a stand against the government to make a change for the better.

People today will complain and word things to others, but will not vote or probe to make a difference in the government they on the dot state politics as usual. The people of this movement didnt need money or power to make them happy, freedom is what made them happy. They did what they neediness when they wanted and I believe thats how the world should be. There has to be rules and regulations I understand, but to fill peoples privacy like we do now is unacceptable. It was a peaceful movement to show the government that we wearyt need materialistic things to make us happy, we bustt need to go to war in Vietnam, and we dont need the countries industries to survive.
