Chem Lab

In this experiment, calcium chloride was reacted with sodium hydroxide accord to the following fit equation:
CaCl2(aq) + 2NaOH(aq) Ca(OH)2(s) +2NaCl(aq)
The purpose doing this reaction was to exercise stoichiometry calculations. Stoichiometry is the process of keeping track of the quantitative relationship between reactants and produces in a reaction. In a stoichiometry fuss, the coefficients in the balanced equation provide the correction number of moles of each substances that is infallible to complete the reaction. Often in a reaction, there is a narrowing reagent since the exact proportions of moles of the reactants are not present. The correct amount of product that can be produced is the littler of the two values since that reactant limits the production of product.
In this lab, the theoretical break down of the equation is found by using the type of stoichiometry problem mentioned above, and the actual stand is how much product is actually form in the lab. The percent yield, a comparison between theoretical and actual yield, is than found using the equation:
